In their first meet of the season, the boys Cross Country team came through with another win at the Ryle Invitational making it 3 straight championships. The team was led by senior Zachary Stewart running a School Record 15:59.5 and finishing 3rd. The Jags dominated the 19 other Northern Kentucky schools with 31 points, defeating 2nd place Highlands who had 77. Finishing with 5 runners in the top 11 the boys left no doubt as to the outcome. Flooding in behind Zachary were seniors Brady Baker 4th, Connor Greenhalgh 6th, Mitchell Greenhalgh 7th, and Jake Vandermosten finishing what was probably the best race of his career in 11th.
The Junior Varsity race saw the debut of senior Greyson Winiger who is a sprinter during track season. After a summer of distance training Greyson opened the season with a win with a time of 17:50.3, leading the team to a 3rd place finish. Other medalists were sophomore Michael Hoffman 7th with a personal best and senior Brendan Evans 17th. Special recognition goes to the freshmen class for opening the season with solid races. All of which either set or broke personal records in the race. The future is looking bright!
