Cooper’s new football season began Friday night when they took on Scott High School to open up district play. The game started off fast with a 65 yard touchdown run by Torrey Cordell-Armstrong. Scott answered with their own 60 yard run but it would be the only answer Scott would have on homecoming night.
The defense played stellar forcing 3 turnovers and limiting the strong backfield of Scott. Marcus Watson had 10 tackles and 2 sacks on the night. Chad Michels and Devin Murray each had fumble recoveries.
On offense, Billy Prickett and Torrey Cordell-Armstrong led the way. Prickett threw for one touchdown and ran for two. Cordell-Armstrong had over 170 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Cooper is now 4-2 (1-0) on the season.
Up next is the Team from Hebron. The game will be played at Conner High School with kickoff set for 7:00 pm. Come early as it looks to be a full house!
